How to Extract AIO's 1. Download an AIO that was generated by Autoplay Media Studio ( most of them are ) 2. Extract it from rar, if applicable, to a folder on your hard drive. Make another folder next to it bearing the name of the AIO you are about to extract from itself. 3. Fire it up. *Note - the AIO.exe format is a self extracting file which Winrar can handle, but most times the files inside are password protected, including click.ogg and others. Not sure how to break that. Proceed... 4a. While it's running, open up your XP profile Temp directory (ex. C:\Documents and Settings\Bombenhagel\Local Settings\Temp)... This is assuming you are using WinXP, although it should be about the same for Win2000. I'd have to check on Win98, although it just may be C:\Windows\Temp. 4b. If the AIO opens in full screen mode, just do an Alt.+Tab to change over to any folder you may already have open, and browse to the Temp directory. Your AIO should be in a directory called ir_ext_temp_0 or similar. Inside there should be 2 items, one executable called autorun.exe and a folder called AutoPlay by default, although it may called something else depending on who packed the AIO. 5. Without closing the AIO, copy (Ctrl.+C) and paste (Ctrl.+V) the autorun.exe file and the accompanying folder to the folder you created immediately after extraction from the original rar archive you downloaded. Wait for the copy operation to complete, then close the AIO. Its folder in your Temp folder should then eat itself and disappear. Now you have the raw extracted contents of the AIO, giving you access to the individual apps inside the Docs folder, which is a subfolder of the "Autoplay" folder, and preserving the presentation. You can still use the AIO, but now it should load almost immediately upon clicking on the autorun.exe file, saving you some time and headache. At this point you can throw away the original AIO.rar and the f1 extracted AIO.exe if you want. If you're like me and categorize all your AIO's in the same folder for later CD burning, you could even pick out a "flagship" AIO to stick in the root folder of the CD, which will run everytime you insert your CD. Just make sure to include an autorun.inf file in the root directory. Points for style go to those who also make a 64x64 or 32x32 icon to put in the root folder as well.
