In the same year the SD association adapted the mini SD as an ultra-small form factor extension to the SD card standard and some new small size cards for the use of mobile phone were made, the mini SD card's adapter is also packaged along to enable compatibility with all devices packed with a standard memory card slot. The mini SD card is of universal compatibility having different brand names and there are different manufacturers who make it. It is often mistaken as micro SD card that is another small size SD derivation. The micro SD card is divergently used in mini SD devices but there is absolutely no use of mini SD in micro SD devices. Here is a small comparison of the SD memory card, micro SD and the mini SD cards. The SD memory cards have the width o f 24 mm and the width of 32mm. The width of a micro SD is 20 mm with the width of 21.5 mm. The width of the mini SD cards is 11 mm and the length is 15mm.
There are two different capacity ranges for both the mini SD and the mini SDHC.
